Police investigators are trying to unravel the circumstances that led to the murder of Kenya rugby fifteen players Mike Okombe.
Okombe, 27, was allegedly stabbed to death by his lover at Oliveinn estate in Nakuru Saturday night.
Rongai OCPD Josephat Kioko told this writer that an altercation was witnessed when the two were at a friend's child's birth day party. The woman, identified as 37-year-old Maryanne Mumbi dashed to the kitchen and fetched a knife.
According to a report at the Menengai police station OB desk, the murder incident was reported on Sunday 2:30 pm by 29-year-old Calvin Okoth.
Okoth said he had invited friends at his house to celebrate his 8-year-old son's birth day when the incident occured.
"Scene visited by the Menengai OCS and divisional crime personnelbut the accused who is the manager at St Sinai hotel was not traced.Murder weapon not found," the report reads.
Police have asked anyone with information on the suspect to avail it.
