Police in Mombasa have assured adequate security during the annual conference for the primary school head teachers which started Monday in the county.

County Commissioner Maalim Mohamed said security has been beefed up ahead of the week-long meeting.

Mr Mohamed said police patrols will be heightened with more law enforcers being deployed to various areas in the county and also where the meeting venue at Sheikh Zayed Children Welfare Centre in Bombolulu.

“Security has been enhanced ahead of the head teachers’ annual conference that kicks off on Monday. Coordination between police and security firms has been boosted to improve security in various places across the county.”

“We have made adequate security arrangement and uninterrupted traffic flow throughout the period. More than 10,000 participants are expected to attend the meeting,” said Mohamed.

The theme of the confernce is; “Curriculum Reforms for Quality Education”.

More than 10,000 primary school head teachers are expected to attend the meeting in which the school heads are expected to deliberate on issues affecting the education sector in the country.
