The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has begun investigations into the allegations of rape at Kenyatta National Hospital.

The DCI deployed a specialised team of forensic investigators to countercheck the claims that women are raped at the facility on daily basis by morgue attendants.

This comes after Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti on Sunday held a meeting with the team and KNH management together with their security personnel to strategise on the investigations that began immediately after the meeting.

Kinoti revealed that the team dispatched includes seasoned investigators from the DCI and others from the Gender and Children Department of the police.

“I will personally supervise the investigations. The allegations made against the hospital staff are serious and we have to get to the bottom of them,” Kinoti said.

“After this, we will give a comprehensive recommendation to the hospital management with an aim of enhancing the security systems,” he added.
