One person has been knocked off by a car as he crosses Uhuru Highway on the Junction with Chiromo Road to attend a graduation ceremony at the University Of Nairobi.
Nairobi Deputy Commander of Traffic John Boina said that the person was among others that were crossing the road at an undesignated point and has been rushed to Aga Khan Hospital.
“There is one Kenyan who was crossing the road to enter the university but he was knocked off by a car on the Junction between Uhuru Highway and Chiromo Road, he has been taken to Aga Khan Hospital,” Boina confirmed.
In addition, the Deputy Commander urged pedestrians and motorists to be careful as they cruise through the congested roads heading to the University. So as to avoid any other accidents and injuries.
“People coming for the graduation are urged to cross the road at designated points. Drivers are also urged to drive carefully,” Boina said.
Since morning there has been heavy traffic on all major roads around the University of Nairobi: University Way, Chiromo Road have experienced heavy traffic snarl-ups as many people travel to attend the graduation.
