The National Police Service Commission is determined to bring sanity to the police service through vetting.
NPSC chairman Johnstone Kavuludi said the vetting aims to enhance service delivery in the police force.
"We are determined to transform the police from a force to a police service which will serve wananchi better," he said.
He spoke after paying a courtesy call to Uasin County Commissioner Abdi Hassan in Eldoret.
He said the commission has stared educating the police on the importance of the exercise and its benefits.
"We want the police to view vetting as a platform to improve service delivery and not one that is meant to harrass, discipline and show the door police officers," added the chairman.
He said the senstisation exercise will involve traffic police, investigative departments, Officers Commanding Stations and their deputies which will make them at ease by sensitising them on the need to be vetted.
"The vetting process will start in January and we urge anyone with a complaint concerning a particular officer to bring them forward for us to put the officers to account," he said.
