Mwala OCPD Henry Kimathi in Machakos County has issued a strong warning to his juniors during this festive period. He has blasted police officers who move from one entertainment joint to other soliciting bribes and asked the residents to report such officers.
The Commissioner revealed that they have been receiving several complaints about errant officers and indicated that some have already been transferred from the area including the ones who had been conniving with gangsters to terrorise residents.
“I am warning the officers who have been moving from one bar to another collecting money that their days are numbered”, he said. “I’m requesting the public not to hesitate to report such officers to us so that we are able to help you. “We have taken action on the officers from here in Mwala who were colluding with thugs to bully the public. They are no longer in Machakos County”, added the Commissioner yesterday during a community baraza in Mwala town. Governor Alfred Mutua speaking in a past occasion asked the authorities involved to deal ruthlessly with officers caught terrorising people. “The officers fond of taking bribes from entertainment joints should wait for their salaries at the end of the month,” said Mutua. The governor stated that crime scenes and not bars are where police officers should be found and declared his satisfaction with the transfer of errant officers from his county.
