Borabu police boss Timothy Mwasia said armed criminals have turned to churches due to lack of security.

“It is worrying that criminals are stealing from the church. Church leaders should ensure church equipments are kept well so that when thugs broke into the churches they will not find benches,” said Mwasia.

He said church equipment such as piano, speakers, microphones, and drums are the criminals’ target.

"Thieves stealing from the house of God will be cursed. The society should come out and condemn these habits," he added.

This comes after three suspected thieves were on Tuesday arrested for being in possession of stolen church equipment in Borabu.
