Kianda speaking during Jamhuri day celebrations at Garissa primary playgrounds on Tuesday affirmed that security patrols will be intensified across the county.
"I am assuring residents that security will be tight during the festive season. No crime will be tolerated in the region", said Kianda.
The commissioner urged chiefs, assistant chiefs, and Nyumba Kumi officials to cooperate to ensure the safety of the people.
"Local government officials must keep watch deep in the villages and report any form of crimes to police to act immediately", he stated.
He reiterated no police officer will be away from duty because those who went on leave have been recalled.
"We have enough officers and no one will be allowed to abscond duty during this long holiday. I urge youths to desist involving themselves in crimes", added Kianda.
