A section of politicians draw from Kisii county have been accused of funding demonstrations against Kisii county Governor James Ongwae's adminstration.

Kisii county leader of Majority, Protus Moindi said that the recent demonstrations in Kisii have been funded by a section of leaders who want to portray Governor Ongwae in bad light. 

Addressing a press conference on Thursday Protus condemned the recent demonstrations that were held in Kisii dubbed 'Ondoa Panya' and said they had already known who funded the youth.

The ward representative warned those eying for the Governorship seat to forget about it until 2022 when Governor Ongwae will be retiring from active politics.

"We will not allow politicians who want to turnish the image of the county yo succeed. They should give Governor Ongwae humble tike to complete his term," he said. 

Governor Ongwae has been put under pressure by Kisii residents to explain how he has been using development funds.

However, his office is yet to react to the corruption allegations raised against him.
