A Nakuru-based activist is now calling on President Uhuru Kenyatta and Nasa leader Raila Odinga to tone down and agree to dialogue.

This, he said, will save the country from the ongoing political stalemate.

Moses Gitonga, from National Citizen Engagement Forum, says Kenya is a sovereign state and the two leaders must now listen to the voice of all stakeholders.

Failure to hold dialogue will provoke the spirits of fore fathers, Gitonga said.

“When you say that Kenya is a sovereign state you must actualize that by listening to the people, but if the two national leaders cannot then I would call upon the spirits of the founding fathers of this nation to talk to their sons and tell them that they are not bigger than Kenyans,” he said.

Gitonga, who has been on the forefront in the fight for good governance in the country said political chest-thumping is bad for a nation.

While commending a section of leaders from Central Kenya (Martha Karua, William Kabogo and Kabando wa Kabando) who are advocating for dialogue between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Nasa leader Raila Odinga, Gitonga called on elders in the country to make a visit to State House and ensure talks are held.

“We would like elders across the nation to visit State House and ensure talks to save this nation. You saw Martha Karua, Kabogo and Kabando calling for dialogue, those are leaders who have seen the danger that is coming,” he said.
