Political analyst Joseph Simekha. He believes there will no loss of votes through leaders defecting from one political party to another. (abeingo.com)Political analyst Joseph Simekha has dismissed any impact on the presidential elections in October by leaders defecting from one political camp to another.
According to Simekha, both NASA and Jubilee political affiliations will enjoy the same support in the October 17th voting exercise. In fact, Simekha believes the only fight for votes is in convincing the undecided people who also failed to turn out in the August polls.
"The idea that defecting from one political party to another will lead to loss of votes is baseless. The only votes to be fought for are the undecided voters who also failed to come out in the August polls. Nonetheless, the two political outfits will still enjoy the same support come October polls," said Simekha.
The analyst further rubbished claims linking NASA to the recent secession calls in the country.
In his view, the secession calls were made by persons who felt sidelined in the equal share of values in the country and who sought after secession to have an opportunity to enjoy the country's values like leadership.
"NASA is not responsible for the secession calls in the country. The coalition only talked about after there were various complaints from people who felt sidelined from the country's values like leadership," added simekha.
