Political leaders and their supporters have been urged to exercise sobriety as they await the Supreme Court’s decision on presidential elections petition.
Nyamira conference elder Edwin Omboga told NASA and Jubilee leaders to accept the outcome from the court for the sake of peace in the country.
The elder challenged all leaders to unite the country by boldly facing the unresolved issues of National healing, cohesion, reconciliation, inclusivity and corruption.
Speaking to the press after conducting a family day service on Monday at Makairo area, Omboga termed some statements made by leaders from the two divide as unfortunate saying they were not good for the unity of the country.
“It is sad that some lives were reportedly lost, we feel sad that this happened. However we call upon all including leaders to peach peace and be mindful of our words as we are all Kenyans,” he said.
He however hailed the election as free and fair despite NASA’s contrary views stressing that IEBC had done a commendable job. “Let us wait for the court to decide and whatever the court decides, kindly let us accept,” he remarked.
Describing Raila as a man full of wisdom and a real patriot, Omboga however urged the NASA leader to preach peace and be ready to agree with the outcome of the petition in from the supreme court as the nation was bigger than anyone.
Nyamira governor John Nyagarama who also attended the service commended NASA leaders for exploring different avenues provided for by the legal systems to resolve the election dispute.
“We are waiting to hear from court and we are praying to God to give us the victory as we know justice will prevail,” he added
