Political parties which have agreed to join the new Jubilee party will each receive KSh500,000 as compensation.
According to News24Kenya, the parties that have agreed to the merger will receive the paycheck as compensation before the official launch of the party next month.
“There are some major parties like APK, New Ford Kenya and Ford People which agreed to dissolve and join the Jubilee party and they will be paid handsomely before the official launch. Each party will be paid according to its political strength and the number of votes it is likely to bring to the Jubilee fold,” an unnamed high profile source revealed in an interview
“The parties agreed to sell their identities to the Jubilee party and they must be compensated for the same and once that happens many smaller parties will be enticed into dissolving and joining jubilee because of the money factor,” he added.
19 political parties have already agreed to dissolve and join the Jubilee party which President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto will use to seek a second term in office come 2017.
