Confusion emerged when Governor John Nyagarama allegedly hijacked his tour and changed the former PM's landing initially scheduled at Nyamira Primary School to Ekerenyo grounds without the knowledge of organising team lead by Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire and his West Mugirango counterpart, James Gesami.

The situation escalated when a vehicle bearing number plates of the County Government of Nyamira, blocked an entry to Raila’s meeting at the County Assembly grounds and directed Odinga’s convoy to Nyamira grounds where Mr Nyagarama had planned a parallel meeting.

However, the situation was controlled before it escalated by North Mugirango MP Charles Geni who in return blocked Mr Nyagarama’s convoy compelling the Governor’s team to unblock entrance to County assembly grounds.

Speaking at the assembly grounds, Mr Geni condemned the incident and challenged county leaders to hold internal dialogue to solve issues without necessarily making them public.

“We should not let our minor differences divide us. Dialogue is the best way to go and as ODM Nyamira County leaders, we should sit down and unite to avoid such embarrassing scenarios,” he said.

The same message was echoed by ODM Chairperson John Mbadi who urged all party leaders from the county to work together as a tem by always working in consultation.

“As ODM we are one family. It’s my wish that we work together as a team and iron out small differences that can be hijacked by our opponents. It’s important that we pull together,” he said.

When addressing the crowd, Mr. Bosire, Gesami and Nyagarama avoided the issue and directed their energy towards calling for disbandment of Electoral Commission IEBC.
