A political showdown is expected to take place in Kisii county more so in Bomachoge Borabu Constituency as a group of professionals fronted Engineer Peter Kimori to replace Joash Maangi as the Kisii County deputy governor.
The professionals led by Thomas Omweri an accountant in a local tea factory said that Maangi has failed to represent his people well and above all give Ongwae the recommended guidance in his work after they supported him overwhelmingly in 2013.
Speaking during a press conference in a Kisii hotel on Wednesday the professionals said that Eng Kimori’s work can be seen despite the fact that he has never been in any elective post such as Maangi and he is loyal to his people compared to the deputy governor.
They accused Maangi of negligence and said he has self-interest goals in politics that does not help the community nor the residents of Kisii county who elected him in the previous elections.
“We have decided to stand by Kimori and we are calling upon Governor James Ongwae to consider working with him as we know him very well and he has development agendas,” he added.
This comes after Joash Maangi ditched supporting Ongwae for Obure under the Jubilee party.
