According to the area residents, the step was taken after the area Member of County Assembly Alexander Kathinzi supported Wiper MCAs decision to sack the majority leader.

Antony Mutinda a resident of Kivaa stated that it was unlawful for development projects to be halted due to mere politics.

"The tractor was taken away yesterday and we are surprised because we pay taxes and it's our right to get services from our government despite political differences," said Mutinda.

Kivaa residents on Sunday threatened to boycott tax payment as a result of the withdrawal of the truck.

Wilson Kisinga a businessman in Kuvaa town has also declared that if road construction is not resumed the tax and revenue collectors from Machakos County in the town should stop their exercise.

"If the government cannot grant us services from our tax payments we might be forced to kick away all tax collectors in Kivaa ward because we will not continue paying taxes to a government that doesn't serve us," he added.

The removal of the Machakos County assembly majority leader and Chief whip has been termed as a tussle between the Wiper Democratic Movement of Kalonzo Musyoka and the Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement headed by Dr Alfred Mutua.
