A Nyamira based politician has denied using EACC to claim that there are high levels of corruption in the county.
Walter Nyambati who vied for the County governor seat unsuccessfully during the last year’s polls said he has not bribed EACC to mislead members of the public.
"Nyagarama should stop panicking. The county funds he has misused must be recovered. EACC is doing their work of ensuring there is transparency use of county funds to develop the county,” he said.
According to Nyambati, he has never met with the EACC officers to bribe them.
“I have never met EACC officers led by Commissioner Rose Macharia to bribe them to say that there is corruption in Nyamira County. People are aware that EACC will not be compromised in releasing corruption reports. Nyaragama and his corrupt staff should be held accountable for the lost county money. The people of Nyamira deserve better and good roads, improved health centers with equipments, good education for our children and security,” he said.
He called on EACC to keep close eye watch on Governor Nyagarama’s second term because he may embezzle more funds as he retires in 2022.
