Victor Ogeto, through his Ogeto Swanya Foundation that has been promoting education by giving scholarships to needy students, on Thursday said he would extend the helping hand to youths who are talented in music, arts and other talents that can be nurtured.

He said the move was necessitated by increasing number of youths in the art sector but who end up dropping their careers due to lack of enough capital.

He said through his foundation, he has set aside Sh1 million for the year 2015/16 that will specifically help people talented especially in music and other artistic areas to showcase their art.

“I have been supporting education but unfortunately though, I haven’t given much attention to art. However, I have put them on budget and I would like to organise events that can help us identify exceptional talents,” he said at Gesima market.

“I have been approached before by a number of them but this time I want to make it official so that no one is locked out. It is special because such talent pays and can change humanity,” he added.

He asked area politicians to focus on development rather than engaging in petty politics that were drawing back progress in the region.
