Speaking on Monday at Gesieka at a burial ceremony, former Minister and longtime West Mugirango MP Henry Obwocha accused the county government of launching ‘petty’ projects that would not help improve livelihoods of Nyamira people.

Obwocha claimed that the county had lost focus by majoring in the Artificial Insemination since, according to him, not everyone owned cows in the region yet it was a project meant to all county residents.

“As people, let us not be cowed by the county government. These projects are very petty and they do not benefit all residents. I sometimes wonder how many people will benefit from the so called A.I.,” claimed Obwocha.

Obwocha said, “The county government should launch projects that will benefit all residents indiscriminately or else they desist from involving people in those ‘petty’ projects.”

“Who told them that people do not have bulls that can do the same function?,” asked Obwocha.

The former Minister of Planning who was appointed Chairperson of Privatisation Commission by President Uhuru Kenyatta urged the county government to engage experts in proper Planning in matters of expenditures besides asking them to come up with grand projects that will benefit all residents.

“I know people will start accusing me but the truth remains that we have to consult experts. A.I or launching of flowers is not a solution to problems affecting this county. We want to see projects that have no existing alternatives,” said Obwacha.
