A politician allied to the opposition has claimed that the ongoing nurses strike was a plan by the Jubilee government.

According to Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi, the strike was schemed in order to revert the health sector back to the national government.

He said the countrywide strike was plotted to make it look like the health docket has collapsed under county government.

He made the remarks while addressing the press on Sunday at Sigomere Catholic Church.

“It is unfortunate for the public to continue suffering because of Jubilee. I want to advise the governors to stop acting as if they are in a position to meet the nurses’ demands when they have no financial capacity,” he said.

“The CoG should stop confusing the public by sacking nurses and issuing threats when they have no capacity to meet the medics grievances.”

Wandayi said it is pointless for governors to continue sacking nurses when they have no long lasting solutions.
