The aspirant said that the outcome of the just concluded general election do not reflect the will of the people.

Kanu’s Adow Mohammed Abikar, a senator loser, wants the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to cancel the outcome of the governorship and senatorial seats arguing that they were marred by election malpractices and rigging.

“The results declared by the IEBC show that I lost, narrowly, to Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali of Jubilee Party. Yet, this was a sham and stolen election. A recount, proper audit of the ballot and forms 34A would bring the outcome as desired by the people of Wajir,” he said in a press briefing in Nairobi on Thursday, as quoted by Star.

This is after the incumbent Ali garnered 35,393 votes against Abikar’s 26,769.

The other competitors included Abdirahman Adan (ODM who got 19,096 votes, Hussein Abdi (ANC’s) who garnered 16,745 votes, Warsame Hussein (EFP) who got 946 votes and Abdia Hassan who had 884 votes.

The complainant claims that there was no security provided for the ballot papers, which compromised with the outcome of the polls.

He also questioned the education qualifications of Governor-elect Mohamed Abdi Mahamud.
