A Kisii County politician has praised NASA leader Raila Odinga's move to meet with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Mr Samuel Omwando, the ODM chairman Kisii county on Monday said that politicians should emulate the example that Mr Odinga and the president gave for the sake of the country.
"I am happy that the two leaders decided to work together after years of differing politically. Unity will see the country move forward in terms of development," he said.
He cautioned leaders against attacking the two top leaders as it would cause more chaos in the country.
"The two top leaders agreed to drop their differences and work together. Politicians should help them to push for unity. Kenyans want peace for the country to move forward," he said.
Omwando said in politics, leaders may differ but socially they will remain good friends.
"In politics, we don't have permanent enemies. We may differ politically but when it comes to normal and social life we are good friends," he added.
He said Raila and Uhuru's unity is not a surprise because it is something normal.
"Uhuru and Raila uniting is not something that will make people worry. We expected it because elections are over. What we need is the country to have peace and grow economically. Those criticizing the move by the two leaders should focus on helping to unite the divided country after the divisive politics witnessed last year," he said.
