Kisumu West Orange Democratic Movement leaders have warned aspirants against transporting people to register as voters in other regions.
The leaders said they had received reports of other aspirants transporting voters from other wards to register as voters in neighbouring wards.
They said the development will affect the general election and cost the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy leader Raila Odinga crucial votes as he makes a fourth stab at Presidency.
The leaders were raising the concerns to ODM Chairman John Mbadi who took them through party ideals and structures.
Mbadi was hosted by the Deputy party Organising Secretary Rozah Buyu.
Kisumu West ODM Chairman Gideon Ochieng said the ferrying of voters is a practice they are condemning in the strongest terms possible.
“When these people are brought to register as voters they are facilitated by these aspirants, but when the aspirants lose in the primaries, they will not be transported to polling stations during the general election,” said Ochieng.
He stated that this will affect voter turnout since many of them will not come and vote without facilitation.
Buyu urged voters to register at the nearest polling station.
“This will make it easier for people to vote on the material day,” said Buyu.
