Elders from Kisii and Nyamira counties have accused elected leaders from the two counties of steaming animosity among the residents of Keroka town over the border disputes.
Speaking yesterday in Kitutu Masaba in Nyamira county at a joint gathering, the elders said that, it was quite unfortunate that politicians who are supposed to be role models, and who should assist them in addressing the contentious boundary dispute were instead doing the contrary, just for the sake of their selfish political ambitions.
The elders also asked the residents from the two counties to reject the political leaders, who are out to use the issue of the boundary dispute to antagonise them so as to get political mileage.
In a meeting that was addressed by elders from both Nyaribari Masaba and Kitutu Masaba constituencies, the members of the two conflicting county assemblies agreed to place a petition to parliament to resolve the boundary issue.
