When was the last time Kenyans heard about top political leaders engage in physical confrontations?

Is there a story unfolding in your community? Let Hivisasa know

I guess they cannot even remember. Then why are Kenyans engaging in verbal and physical confrontations against each other?

The political uncertainity and tension currently in the country has been created by top political leaders.

The government led by Jubilee and the opposition led by Cord have been in constant confrontation with one another over a host of issues of national interest.

Just recently, Cord was invited for a luncheon in state house where they dined with their political competitor, the Jubilee government.

But after the pleasantries, good food and drinks, the two camps came up with different notions and ideologies that split Kenyans on political lines.

The issues of corruption have plagued the current government. The opposition on the other hand have been vocal in unearthing the misdeeds, which is laudable.

The main problem arises when the two political camps start insults and in the process dividing Kenyans by selling lots of propaganda.

A good example is engaging IEBC on the politics of the country dividing Kenyans in the process concerning how the electoral body should be dealt with.

Kenyan political leaders should stop the type of political unprofessionalism they are portraying to the people. Kenyans should also stop the political sycophancy they are adapting to.

The dangers of not trusting each other can lead to what was witnessed after the 2007 general elections.

Peace should be upheld by all people to allow for socio-economic and political development in the country, where all will benefit from the raised living standards.
