Speaking at Thika town yesterday, Nyokabi observed that some politicians have started campaigns for 2017 and abandoned their responsibilities.

She said that politicians must commit to serving the people and address the many issues facing them.

“It is unfortunate that some politicians have started campaigns for 2017 at the expense of providing services to the people,” she said.

The Women representative further urged politicians to preach unity and help reconcile Kenyans.

She stated that time has come for politicians to measure what they say and do in order to avert cases of inciting the public.

Nyokabi said unity of Kenyans and their leader is crucial if the country is to register development.

Meanwhile, the women representative has raised concerns over the rise in graft cases and called on the government to act.

Nyokabi said that corruption is a serious economic crime and that its perpetrators should be thrown into prison.

She indicated that many development projects have stalled as a result of corruption and called on those who have been mentioned in graft scandals to resign.
