Kwale gubernatorial aspirant Mwachai Mwarapayo has called for the impeachment of Governor Salim Mvurya.
He faulted Members of County Assembly( MCAs) for taking too long to impeach the governor, who recently ditched the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) for Jubilee.
The aspirant said the MCAs have entertained the governor for a long time, claiming he has done nothing to bring development to the region.
Mwarapayo said Mvurya’s time is over and he should consider leaving office for another candidate who steer development for the benefit of Kwale residents.
"You have entertained him for a long time. Once nominations are over, we will have known who the Kwale governor is," he said, as quoted by The Star.
He added that Mvurya's decision to quit ODM for Jubilee was a misguided move that he will soon regret, considering the massive support the opposition enjoys in the Coast region.
His sentiments were supported by Kinango parliamentary aspirant Benjamin Tayari, who urged residents to ignore individuals traversing the county wooing electorate to join Jubilee in a bid to ensure Mvurya maintains his seat.
"Mvurya had indicated that he will not do politics but nowadays he is politicking day and night because he knows his seat is going," said Tayari.
