Bomariba location chief Triposa Orina from Kisii County has warned politicians against early campaigns ahead of the 2017 polls.
Addressing locals at Bigogo grounds on Monday during the Jamhuri day celebrations, she urged leaders to desist from early campaigns and instead concentrate on working for the people.
"It is not yet campaign time and Politicians should avoid campaigns early since this will lead to inciting locals. This is the time locals should see the work before they make a decision," she said.
Triposa added: "As elections nears, locals should take time and assess people whom they think will represent them better in 2017."
She urged locals to engage in mature politics by avoiding unnecessary engagements that would destabilize the country ahead of General elections.
