The MP, who addressed residents at Rongai trading centre yesterday, took issue with some leaders who he accused of perpetuating hate.

He said that politicians must stop preaching hate and instead spearhead peace among Kenyans across the county.

“It seems many of us (politicians) have not learned from what happened in 2007/2008,” he said, stating that dividing the country on tribes would result in violence.

The lawmaker asked the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to investigate and take action against hate mongers.

The MP indicated that the country belongs to Kenyans and not selfish politicians. He asked political leaders to get to work and tackle issues facing the people.

Moi observed that peace is needed for any development to be realised and that those preaching hate should be condemned.

“You (residents) should not listen to tribal ideologies, shun them completely,” he insisted.
