Politicians who have been accusing Nyamira Governor's wife Noami Nyagarama of misusing county resources have been condemned and advised to 'mind their business'.

Nyagarama’s anti-jigger and sanitary towel campaigns in local learning institutions had recently come under attack with 2017 gubernatorial aspirant Charles Mochana accusing the office of the governor of using her to loot millions of taxpayers’ money when addressing residents of Rigoma on Sunday.

However, a section of Gesima ward residents on Tuesday came to the defence of the governor's wife accusing the politicians of trivialising fundamental projects.

“It is improper to say that Naomi is used to loot by the top officials in the county through these fundamental projects. Our girls can now stay in school all the time and we are having many more children who were previously jigger infested resuming school,” said former councilor, Jane Nyakang’o in response to Mochama’s comments.

They said the activities by  the governor's wife were legal and labeled critics of the projects as ‘impediments’ to development in the region.

“Who else do they want to do that work? If they (politicians) are ready to do it, then we can tell her (Naomi) to give them a chance to help our people,” added Jerusha Momanyi.

In another function on Monday, a Kitutu Masaba politician, Shadrack Mose, urged the county assembly to disclose the amount of money disbursed to the kitty for accountability at Nyabuya village.

“We all support good initiatives like the ones Naomi is doing but we need a clear report from the county assembly indicating the amount of money she is allocated together with wives of MCAs to facilitate such programs,” Mose said.
