Governor, Major (rtd) Dr. Dhadho Gaddae Godhana also urged locals to shun divisive politics and intercommunity hatred and embrace peace for the county to progress economically.

Mr. Godhana asked the leaders to instead adopt constructive ideologies and to be tolerant of each other for unity and peace to prevail in the region.

The governor said it’s the responsibility of leaders to ensure communities maintain peace and peaceful co-existence.

The governor who was speaking at the Hola Stadium during a public function in Hola Town further urged the youth to shun leaders who have no regard for the rule of law.

He said that if the residents become united, the county would be able to achieve faster economic growth than others in the region.

“We cannot achieve much if you continue with your small differences while people in other counties are progressing.”

“I ask the residents to be united and confront the county’s challenges instead of dwelling on small inter-community differences that have made the country lag behind in development. All we need is a unity of purpose to make tomorrow better than yesterday and today,” he added.
