The campaign period is the most dreaded time for our country.

At the moment, every county and town are abuzz with campaigns for their desired candidate to win in the elections. While the general election is a hundred days away, most parts of the country are littered with campaign materials.

The menace created through this litter is chocking our environment. The natural and scenic feel of our trees have being deprived by the posters filling every tree and acting as posts to erect all the campaign materials.

Moreso, buildings and other structures have been sprawled with the posters with or without their owner's consent. This goes a long way to show the ignorance and arrogance by the aspirants who are seeking the same people’s votes to get them into their desired posts in government.

It is very unfortunate that after the elections, these political aspirants will ignore that it is their picture and name on the posters and at least try to clean up after themselves.

No, this will be left unchecked until the general elections well after five years and the cycle will continue.
