The next General elections in Kenya, which are scheduled to take place in 2022, has the likelihood of having stiff competition as many popular politians desire the top seat. The involvement of some Politians will, therefore, make the polls highly competitive.
First, the son of the second President of Kenya, Gideon Moi has the capability of making the 2022 General elections competitive. If William Ruto will not agree with Gideon in the next polls, a stiff competition is predestined to rise and that will see the Rift Valley votes split. Gideon joined politics in 2002, immediately after his father, Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi, retired from politics.
The probability of Gideon becoming Kenya's President is high, taking history and a number of factors into consideration. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, whose father was the first President, became a president with ease, why not for Moi? Besides, it maybe a dilemma for the president, Uhuru, to support Ruto or Gideon. Noticably, Moi's family contributed to the victory of Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013.
Musalia Mudavadi, who was in the 2013 presidential race, is also among those whose potential can be of great impact come 2022. In 2013, Musalia became third in the general elections held on March 4, that saw Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta become the fourth President of the republic of Kenya.
Being a leader from the Western part of the country and the ANC leader, Musalia has a number of followers who, if he combines with another popular politian, will cause a stiff competition. Musalia has an advantage of experience in politics, since he first became a member of Parliament in 1989, immediately after the death of his father.
Lastly, William Ruto who is the current Deputy President in the Jubilee regime, has a greater chance of becoming the fifth president of Kenya. The victory of Ruto is under a number of conditions , the most important being the support from the Central region and the back up from Uhuru.
