Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has implored on politicians whose children are studying at Bahati Girls to clear their fees arrears to enable the institution meet its financial needs.
Speaking Monday when he attended a prize-giving ceremony for the 2015 KCSE candidates at the school's grounds, Ngunjiri said some of those who owed the school were politicians and rich parents.
"I have noted with concern that there are parents who owe the school a lot of money in fees arrears and I am appealing to those concerned to meet their financial commitments so that the school can be able to sort out its many financial issues. Some of the debtors are politicians and rich parents with children at the school," he said.
He added that the area CDF had assisted several students clear their fees saying it would also pay Sh80,000 to help clear fees for orphaned students at the institution.
Ngunjiri also noted that the school lacks enough land to enable expansion saying there is need to buy more land from neighbours to facilitate the exercise.
During the ceremony, students who scored grades A plain and A- (minus), were feted with mobile phones and certificates.
