Kenyan politicians have been urged to embrace peace as the country heads towards the general election.

Speaking at Keumbu trading center in Kisii Nyaribari Chache Member of parliament Richard Tong’i discouraged politicians from engaging in harmful rhetoric and incitement in a bid to win votes.

“All leaders from MCAs to the top, let us not practice politics that would turn Kenyans against each other like we saw in 2007/2008 post-election violence,” he added.

He said its sad to see politicians mislead the country or even fuel violence yet they are supposed to be the eyes of the society and who are supposed to preach peace.

“All leaders especially the elected ones should spearhead love and peace among all communities as that what we all want,” he added.

He called upon communities living in the country irrespective of tribes and political differences to embrace love and support each other as brothers and sisters, adding that nothing positive can be done without a peaceful environment.
