According to Nyaribari Chache Member of parliament Richard Tong’i in the recent past, he has witnessed politics playing around schools management and most performing school principals chased and therefore it is time schools’ Boards of Management should be given a chance to run the schools so as to realise desirable results.

Speaking on Sunday at Riangabi Primary School during a fundraiser, the legislator stated that the interference would negatively affect the academic performance of the learning institutions.

“We all know teachers can't perform better if they are always under pressure from some politicians who have self-interest, therefore there is a need for them to keep off school management,” he added.

The MP’s remarks come barely a week after the locals and board members were accused of politicising the transferring of teachers in Kisii County.

The legislator appealed to the leaders and the local community to liaise with the new head so as to maintain the performance and reputation of the school.

He said transfers are a conventional practice in the public service and that any manager is capable of delivering so long as they are given the necessary support by all the stakeholders.
