Politicians have been told to stop questioning the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ahead of 2017 general election.
According to the moderator of Reformed Church of East Africa Musa Maina, this may raise political temperatures and Kenyans might not believe the outcome of the elections.
"As religious leaders of we want the coming elections to be free and fair where both parties will be contented with the results," he said.
Speaking to journalists during their 53rd Synod of the Reformed Church on Friday, Maina said they will partner with other religious leaders to preach peace before during and after elections.
"This time we won't allow what transpired in 2007 in Uasin Gishu County to reoccur as we stay mum. We will do all we can to unite Kenyans," he added.
"We call upon religious leaders as well as well as Kenyans to stand firm in promoting peace, tolerance for and fairness to on the conduct of campaigns and and elections. Kenya is bigger than anyone's ambitions," he added.
He also urged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) selection-panel to select commissioners on merit and not through political pressure.
He also commended the Ministry of Education under the leadership of Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi for strict measures to curb exam cheating.
"We have witnessed minimal, if any, irregularities cheating and exam anomalies. When the godly are in power people rejoice but when wicked are in power people groan," he added.
