Speaking in Eldoret, Wednesday, Hassan said they will not allow any politician to cause unnecessary tension among the locals by issuing reckless statements.

He asked politicians to conduct their campaigns peacefully and focus on preaching peace and unity.

The County Commissioner however assured residents in the county that security surveillance will be enhanced before, during and after the general elections.

"Our people should not worry about their security during the electioneering period as we have put in place measures to ensure they are protected," noted Hassan.

"I also want to warn politicians that anybody found inciting locals either on tribal or ethnic lines with an intention to cause fear or violence will be dealt with irrespective of their status in the society," he added.
