With the 2022 general elections drawing near, more leaders have come out to offer their candidature for the presidential slot.

Here are, however, some of the possible candidates whose bids are seemingly unrealistic as of now, and are headed for a loss should they not restrategize ahead of time.

1. Moses Wetangula

The Ford Kenya party leader forms the list of the politicians who have since announced their ambition for the top post. The Bungoma Senator's candidature, however, is currently weak.

Wetangula lacks a strong support base and has worsened the situation by picking fights with his possible backers, his most recent being Amani National Congress (ANC) party boss whom he recently denounced after a planned merger.

2. Alfred Mutua

The Machakos Governor is also not ripe for the post, basing on his shoddy preparation, as it currently appears. Unlike the likes of Deputy President William Ruto who is enjoying close to full support in his Rift Valley backyard, Mutua is facing opposition in his own Ukambani bedrock.

He is yet to acquire the backing of strong leaders in the region like Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka and will have it hard convincing other regions to back him unless he secures the full backing of his own region.

3. Musalia Mudavadi

The opposition co-leader is also headed for a loss should he not consult widely and bring in more leaders to back his bid. The leader's candidature for the same post in the 2013 elections failed and risks the same should he go ahead and vie in 2022.

Unless he secures Wetangula's backing in his Western Kenya backyard, he will have it hard securing the backing of the remaining parts of the nation.
