Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi has asked Cord leader Raila Odinga to respect President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee government.

Wamatangi claims that Raila and the opposition do not have respect for President Uhuru’s government.

During an interview on AM Live on NTV on Tuesday, Wamatangi said that the opposition's move to spread false propaganda about Uhuru’s government in regards to graft is a clear indication that it has no respect for the presidency.

The senator said that while the opposition has the right to question the government, it has to do so through the right mechanisms and procedures.

Wamatangi noted that the opposition’s attack on Uhuru's family in regards to the alleged Sh5 Billion scam at Afya House is in bad faith and malicious.

The senator accused the opposition of doing the work of government agencies mandated to fight graft.

“Raila and his colleagues in opposition should stop spreading malicious propaganda and allow government agencies mandated to fight corruption do their work and reveal the truth on the alleged graft scandals,” he added.

Wamatangi said that opposition will not gain anything by politicising the war on graft. The senator said that the move by opposition to politics graft will backfire.

He said that Uhuru’s re-election in 2017 is real and no amount of propaganda and criticism will prevent Kenyans from re-electing him.

Uhuru’s government has been under criticism over alleged rampant graft.

Opposition leaders are accusing the Jubilee government of tolerating graft following the alleged Sh5billion Afya House scam.

The government has however defended itself accusing the opposition of politicising corruption to gain political advantage ahead of the 2017 polls.
