Traders in Eldoret town are an unhappy lot.

They say business has been negatively affected by the nullification of the presidential election results.

The traders, most of who sell vegetables, fruits and other perishable goods say they have been incurring heavy looses since the courts ordered for a fresh Presidential election.

Led by the Eldoret Wholesale Market chairman Zachayo Maina, the traders said they are forced to throw away most if their products which end up roting due to low sells.

"Money circulation within the town seems to have dropped drastically since that court ruling as we used to sell almost all of our vegetable and fruits stock for the day but currently one is lucky to reach half," said Maina in Eldoret, Wednesday.

"Most of what we sell here can't survive for two or three days and because of the low sells we end up remaining with rotten goods which is a huge loss for us," he added.

The traders however expressed optimism that business will be back to normal after the October 17 elections.

"What matters now is for a peaceful election period as this will ensure things return to normalcy as quickly as possible," Maina noted.
