Kenya is democratic nation and Ukambani is part of Kenya. Leaders are chosen by the people and not a few individuals.

The aspirant Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama or Governor Alfred Mutua among other leaders back is not necessarily the best for the people of Ukambani.

Time has come for big wigs to stop imposing leaders on the people. Recently, Kalonzo and Wiper Chairman David Musila disagreed before the eyes of the public.

What message did the two leaders send to the investors? When Muthama decides to walk out of a rally attended by Kalonzo, what would investors think about the region’s leadership?

Each candidate has a right to contest for any seat. Ukambani is not meant for a few individuals. As much as Kalonzo is the party leader, others also want to grow politically.

For how long will Musila wait? Is Musila growing younger? Leaders from this part of the nation should stop intimidating and coercing others to back their preferred candidates.

Being a wiper candidate does not necessarily mean you are the best. There are leaders from unpopular parties but they are transforming their regions.

The people of Ukambani should be given an opportunity to evaluate different aspirants without being influenced by anyone. Whether a candidate belongs to Jubilee, ODM, Maendeleo Chap Chap or any other party, he has the right to be elected in different capacities.
