Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has warned that threats by opposition alliance NASA to boycott the August polls over electoral laws could plunge the country into chaos and violence.
In an address to the media on Tuesday, Tuju noted that the opposition has a history of inciting its supporters, calling for sobriety ahead of the general elections.
Tuju further stated that NASA appears unprepared for the general elections and therefore are keen to derail the August polls.
“One minute they talk about 10 million strong votes, and the next minute they want to boycott the poll, and by extension accept early defeat,” Tuju said.
The opposition has maintained that presidential election results announced at the constituency level must hold as official results.
“The courts have already pronounced themselves on this matter. The IEBC must respect the law as it is,” NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga stated on Tuesday.
