If elections were held today half of Nairobi County MPs would go home, a recent Infotrack opinion poll has revealed.

According to the poll released on two weeks ago, 43% of the respondents said they would not re-elect the current batch of Nairobi MPs with 40% saying they would. 3% refused to answer.

The poll conducted through phone interview also reveals that in terms of individual MPs, only Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi and Kibra MP Ken Okoth would be re-elected.

In the senatorial race, 35.3% said they would re-elect Mike Sonko while 25.9% said they preferred nominated MP Johnstone Sakaja. George Aladwa of NASA polled at 9.9% followed by Mutinda Kavemba who polled at 2.4%.

Mike Sonko has, however, expressed interest in Nairobi gubernatorial seat.

In the Nairobi Women Rep race, Rachael Shebesh would be re-elected at 36.7% with Millicent Omanga coming second at 12.8%. However, the pollster noted that the race could go both ways as 41.3% of the respondents remained undecided. Both Shebesh and Omanga are squaring it out for a Jubilee ticket.

In terms of party popularity, Jubilee is the most popular in Nairobi at 43% with NASA following closely at 40%. 6.2% were undecided which coalition to support while 7.6% supported none of the two.
