A poll conducted in Machakos County has shown that the incumbent governor Dr Alfred Mutua will beat Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti hands down.
The poll, which was conducted by a consortium made up of foreign missions, showed that Mutua will win the seat with 66.1% followed Wavinya's with 31.7 % and Machakos Deputy Governor, Bernard Kiala will take the third position 1.5%.
The survey was undertaken between 10 June, 2017 and 15 June, 2017.
During the exercise, the team of researchers interviewed 3,105 homes from different parts of Machakos County.
The outcome of the polls comes at a time when both leaders have intensified their campaigns in different parts of the county.
Ndeti has continued with her campaigns amidst clearance row. The gubernatorial aspirant was taken to court on grounds that she belonged to two parties.
The case against Ndeti will be determined on Wednesday. If she is dropped from the race then Mutua will be more reprieved. The breakdown of the results as follows
