Polling stations in Homabay county remain closed even after the IEBC declared that there will be elections in the whole country.Homabay county is a known NASA stronghold and residents seem to have heeded to Odinga's call not to participate in the voting.Homabay Primary School, one of the major polling stations in the county remain cool and closed as if nothing was to happen.Residents have however reportedly taken to streets to engage in demos against the elections contrary to Odinga's instruction yesterday where he called upon supporters to stay at home and avoid demos. Roads are reportedly blocked and no businesses are on in Homabay town.Elsewhere in Kisumu county, voting has not yet kicked off and residents have taken to the streets to face off with the police in demonstrations against the election. The demonstrators throw stones at the police who in turn charge against the protestors by throwing teargas canisters at them.Elections are however, smoothly underway in Jubilee strongholds although turn outs are low due to weather conditions in some of the areas where there are heavy downpours.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto are yet to gas their votes in Gatundu and Eldoret respectively.
