Individuals who dispute the credibility of opinion polls should do so based on facts and not frustrations, two opinion poll firms have said.
According to Ipsos Synovate CEO Tom Wolf and his Infortrak Hariss counterpart Angela Ambitho, the outcome of their polls are informed by research and are backed by objectivity and not political machinations.
The duo who released presidential opinion polls Sunday challenged those who cast aspersons on the credibility of the outcome of such polls to counter them based on factual evidence and not to discredit them because they feel shortchanged.
Wolf said that although sometimes the opinion polls fail to live up to expectations, they should not be dismissed in their entirety since there have been instances when their predictions have been spot on.
"We predicted the 2005 and 2010 referenda so accurately, so even though sometimes we fail to get it right it should not invite a blanket condemnation and dismissal. We always strive to get everything right," he told NTV.
A section of Kenyans have since dismissed the credibility of pollsters in the country after the 2013 opinion polls failed to live up to expectations.
