Addressing the press in his office in Baraka Technical College-Orphans centre on Wednesday, Katundu stated that he had noted an increase in young idlers in the towns after KCSE results were released each year.

“Young children have turned into drug abusers and chew miraa even early in the morning because they have lost hope after failing to achieve good grades in the national examinations,” said Katundu.

Katundu is also the founder of Baraka Technical College-Orphans centre, and a Christian missionary.

He advised parents to consider enrolling their children in Technical schools that do not require good performance to be admitted.

“I urge the parents with respect to enroll their children in technical schools to receive technical skills because all people do not have same capabilities. Others have big talents that if natured can change their lives,” he said

The clergy further added that the nations’ employment opportunities are competitive, and many young people use self-employment as a way to make a living hence improving their lives.
