Addressing Mawanga - Teachers Business Owners Association (METEBOA) on Wednesday Nakuru activist and aspiring politician, James Kaka, said that most voters elect leaders giving handouts instead of looking at their qualifications.

Kaka observed that the culture of receiving money and other handouts from politicians during and before campaigns had greatly contributed to poor leadership and promoted corruption among elected leaders.

“Voters need to elect a leader because of his credentials and not because he is giving out hand outs. This will help us to fight corruption,” said Kaka.

He adds that most leaders who give out hand outs are corrupt hence need for voters to be careful.

Kaka urged the business fraternity to fight corruption by all means since it is a threat to our economy.

“Do not allow your organisation to be part of money handouts networks, but instead demand tangible development plans from leaders,’’ said Kaka.
