Bandari FC assistant coach George Owoko is not having any kind words for the centre referee of their match against Zoo Kericho that saw his team lose controversially to the KPL newbies 3-2.
In an exclusive interview with a futaa.com, Owoko wondered why the referee ruled offside Felly Mulumba's goal from a Noah Abich free-kick."I have never seen where a free-kick is taken then it is ruled for an offside when the player is in the line with the defenders. Abich took the free-kick which Mulumba tapped in and it was ruled for an offside. It was like the referee was forcing a home win to them (Zoo). You don't have to force a home a home win,” Owoko said. While claiming that the referee was being overruled by the linesman, Owoko said should the trend continue, the standards of local football will be at stake. The defeat was Bandari's second in a row and leaves them 7th on the log. However, they have the room to redeem themselves when they host Western Stima at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Saturday May 27.
